Sweatshop

Finally, I am sharing with you my love for this place. The best coffee shop in Brooklyn. It's about time.
When it comes to eating out for breakfast, I generally love to go to a cafe rather than a place that is specifically for this meal of the day. The meals at cafes tend to be much healthier than those I come across at restaurants. I also believe that since breakfast is in fact, the most important meal of the day, we should nourish our bodies and prepare them for the long day ahead.
During my most recent visit to New York, I came across this gorgeous little hidden cafe. I say hidden only because I passed it more than once before realizing that it was only across the street and a few steps down.
Walking in, you immedietly notice the bright sign that says "Sweatshop". You then must obviously take a photo for the gram, because it's more than necessary. Then, your eyes see the menu. You begin to tear up because everything seems so tasty and you can't just choose one.
My dad chose the Avo Toast to go along with his coffee of the hour. Although I did not try it, I could tell it was very well made because of how often he raved about it. Apparently the secret ingredient to making it so perfect is feta cheese. I was personally amazed by how flawlessly the sunny side up egg layed upon the toast. Just look at that beautiful thing.
Not being a huge coffee fan, I ordered myself a lovely green tea that I have been craving since that day. Along with that I ordered a Coyo Bowl, which I will never forget. It's absolutely unexplainable how delicious it was. A blend of acai and vegan coconut yogurt, topped with chia seeds, coconut flakes, the best granola ever, and some berries. It was so good that I came back for another the next day. It was also so good that I tried to make my own at home. I failed. How could something so simple be so impossible to recreate? I guess it's just another reason to go back to NYC.

Corn Sweater

Looking at what I've titled this post, you're probably thinking, "what?!" Well, if you look further into the photos that my sweater does in fact resemble corn- I cannot be the only one who thinks so. It may not be yellow, but it's all there..I'm wearing corn. Anyway, I have owned this sweater for about a year now and it will always remind me of corn- there's no changing that.
Today was a warm autumn day, but most importantly, it was a day off school. So, my mom and I headed to Lincoln Park to grab something to eat at Floriole and later grabbed a warm drink at one of my favorite coffee shops (Heritage Bicycles)!!
I had such an amazing day and hope you all did as well!! Enjoy these photos :)

Blackout

The most sliming color. Although I have tried my best to stay away from wearing all black and grey recently, my love for dull colors continues to shine bright.
What I love about outfits like this one is that it's not only simple and comfortable, but fairly sophisticated as well.
The jacket I am wearing is one of my all time favorites. It may seem a bit light (weight wise), but it's super warm- making it perfect for fall weather.

Distressed

Fall days that aren't extremely cold are perfect. I've been obsessing over the jeans in this outfit- perfect for the summer and fall. Spent yet another day roaming around Rush Street and Michigan Avenue. Ate my favorite curry at Le Colonial. Safe to say that my day was successful. Hope you are all having an amazing start of your week!

Sundaze

Most people love Fridays and Saturdays, but I live for Sundays. Going to school 6 days a week always makes me eager to sleep in a bit longer on Sundays. Not only do I get to wake up late, but I also get to go out for brunch- my obsession.
I wore the jacket in my previous post, which I told you is my favorite. See? I wasn't lying! I paired it with a simple long sleeved sweater and the pants that I wear just about every day. Honestly, I'm totally channelling my inner Harry Styles. I really hope some of you understand that reference or else this is kind of embarrassing. Anyway, I paired the look with my stans because they are just so absolutely comfortable it's insane. If you still don't have them.. get them. It's so worth it, I promise you. I also apologize to those of you who are extremely picky and notice that only some of my nails are painted. I tend to do that a lot. Also please forgive me that my camera lens cover looks so awkward in the pocket of my pants. If I could go back, I would.
This past Sunday, my dad and I decided to go to Soho House since we hadn't brunched there in a while. That place always feels like home to me. Surprising not only myself but the waiters as well, I ordered almond butter and banana on toast, instead of avocado toast. It was so perfect and the bread has a perfect crunchy-ness to it. Oh! And it had flax seeds on top! #Health... am I right?! I don't regret it one bit... change is good. Don't worry though, avo toast is still dear to my heart.
My dad ordered the Mean Sandwich. It consists of egg, bacon, taleggio, cheddar, aioli, and a few greens. According to him, the cheeses made it perfect. So if you're into all that jazz... hit that sandwich up!
After our little brunch, we did did a bit of home decor shopping for my room at my dads new house. We purchased a mirror and a chair... if anyone is actually interested in that. Once that surprisingly long adventure was completed, we headed to Caffe Streets where we planned on getting a scone and some beverages. But all the baked good were sadly gone, so all we got was tea and coffee. Since it was somehow already 2 pm, we decided to go over to Antique Taco to satisfy our cravings.
Prior to my vegetarian/vegan phase, I loved their shrimp taco quite a lot, so that's all I ever really tried. However, once I told the girl taking my order about my situation, I was happy to find out she was vegan! She recommended a few choices that are able to be vegan-ized. I went with the Market Mushroom tacos and my dad went with his favorite fish tacos. And of course we ordered some Guac & Chips... because how could we not?
Next, we drove to Michigan Ave to walk around and perhaps purchase a coat that I was dying to get. Thankfully the marathon run was over, and we were able to park in an area fairly close to our desired destination. Obviously, they had my dream coat in every single size, except the one I needed. Instead I bought a skirt that I spent all summer telling myself I look ridiculous in. I'm strange, I know.

Onto the second meal of the day we go! (Captured with iPhone if you're confused on the change of quality).

Hope you all enjoyed this post and enjoy the rest of your week even more! This post probably showed a bit too much of my sarcasm... but that's alright.

Sweater Weather

These past few days have been insanely chilly, which I'm not very fond of. Don't get me wrong, I love me some cold weather, but the wind ruins it most times. Despite the cold, my mom and I love to walk around Wicker Park, sipping tea and walking in and out of stores.
Today, we hoped to eat some lunch at Mindy's Hot Chocolate, but getting there, we realized it was closed. And so we went to Umami Burger. Not being a cheese or meat eater, I ordered some sweet potato fries, while my mom and sister got themselves some burgers. The atmosphere was fun and just sitting there was a good time.
After we headed to Native Foods Cafe for some little vegan treats. We got an oatmeal créme pie and a chocolate cupcake. I can never understand why people say "vegan food is too healthy for me" when it can easily be just as sweet. Walking back out onto the street, we decided it was way too cold to not be holding warm drinks, so on we went to La Colombe.
Just as a coffee addict can be picky about their latte or espresso, I am crazy about tea. La Colombe has some great green tea that I highly recommend trying out. Instead of going right back outside, we sat down and nibbled at our treats from Native Foods, while occasionally sipping at our burning hot green tea. After about an hour or so, we started our journey back to the car, only to stop by Intermix on the way. Luckily, Mindy's was open and my mom finally got the chance to try the incredibly famous hot chocolate. Her reviews are thankfully just as great as mine.
Then, we stumbled upon the cutest wall art, ever! 3 large walls, each have 'love' written on them in black and white. They would not stop screaming, "PHOTO OPPORTUNITY" at me.
Onto the outfit we go! Recently, I whipped out my favorite moto jacket and haven't been able to stop wearing it. It seriously goes with just about everything in my closet and always manages to keep me super warm. Another thing I whipped out were my chelsea boots. They might be a little bit worn out after wearing them so often earlier this year, but they're still so comfortable. If you're ever looking for some snug booties, head to ASOS where you will never be disappointed.
While doing some fall shopping earlier last month, I discovered this perfect sweater dress. A long sleeved dress that keeps you warm during the fall...what more could a girl want? As soon as I saw the color, I was sold. Nothing in my closet can't come close to such a color. I swear I'm changing...wear do I put all of my dull greys?
I actually paired this look with my tiny purse from daily look that I just realized isn't noticeable at all. So, you're just going to have to trust me on this.

The Apartment

Happy Sunday! It's been quite a while since my last post. I told myself it's because I'm busy, but it's obviously procrastination. Anyway, I am back now! I realized that I still have not gotten the chance to share with you all one of my favorite places I visited in NYC (not food related). You may or may not heard of the famous Apartment by The Line. I'm here to share with you all the photos I took that turned out quite amazing if I do say so myself. The entire space is wonderful, making me want to live in Soho that much more. Safe to say it's my dream apartment. Not only is the location perfect, but so is all the furniture. I fell in love with this spot, and hope you enjoy these pictures I took.
